Make it slice your gum open.

Right. So. I said I'd update frequently once my trials are over yes ( :
Haha so yup, I shall fire away.
Made a list, and saw that I have about 10 things to talk about lol.
So I'm going to post a few posts a day, bout memorable & eventful happenings, and not jam the whole blog with like 10 entries in one day lol.

Sitting here like an almost invalid with a rather delicately sore gum, I've decided to start with my Melaka trip with the family & Steffen.
Oh and my title's nothing morbid or sadistic. It's just actually my current condition right now, or should I say what happened this morning. But that's a different story. Will talk about it after the Melaka post tehe.

Okay. If you remember, Steffen is my brother's Norwegian friend whom he brought back from Aussie who stayed with us for approximately 10 days.
Hahaha I still remember the very first time I met him. I came home after my driving instructor sent me back, barged into my front door like some maniac and just started rambling on & on about my JPJ test. Then I saw my mother staring at me, and my brother "LOL-ing".
Wah, very funny isit hearing me describe my annoying experience with JPJ huh HUH.
Then...

"Yes. So. This is my daughter, Rachel."

I walked further in (was talking off my shoes at the front door that time), and saw Steffen seated comfortably on the sofa who was totally (seriously !) out of my range of vision at that time lol !

"OH. Right. Hello !"
"Hi."

So here he is :

Hahahahah I remember myself monologuing the whole time in my head :
"Oh ya whatthecrap lah Rachel. He's arriving today rememberr.
And you come barging in like a baffoon.
Didn't even properly say Hello.
Have to rave on & on & on about something he's never even heard about.
What a way to greet a guest. Such a good host you are.
I don't think he knows what JPJ stands for anyway.
Well, of course he wouldn't know lah !
He's from Norway lah woman !"

Lol so funny wei : D
So in the duration of the 10 days, we went to some malls here, Melaka and Steffen & Dav headed up to Penang. He was pretty sick of malls by the time he reached Malaysia cos he was in Singapore before this and his host there positively brought him to most of the malls there. And he prefers history & nature & photography so yeah Melaka was good for him I think. I hope lol.

We had Pelita's food before we left for Melaka

and I had to sit in between those 2 boys who made it impossible for me to sleep hahaha.
Pinching each other & whacking each other & making Achmed jokes & YARRR jokes.
LOL to them lah.

Our first stop was of course, A'Famosa fort
Lol my bro looks short but Steffen's actually 6"3 so hahah you should see me next to him.
I look tiny. So yeah anyone would look short next to him lol.

Just a pic before we went up up up.
I felt so bad for the beggar on the right there. I didn't mean to capture him cos he may not like it but I wanted the dudes to be in the middle so yeah, terpaksalah. Kemaafan lol.

I don't know why we were all lined up lol.

We got out of the fort and the view was really nice, as always.
I think Steffen really liked it, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city.

Oh and this tower thing is super maju okay. It's for tourists to go right up to the tower to have a spectacular overview of Melaka ! They sit in the round disc-like thing and once the disc-like thing reaches the top, it rotates for at least 15 mins I think, so no matter where you're seated, everyone gets equal chance of seeing 360 ( : Pretty cool for Melaka ey. It's exactly like the Solero Shot in Genting where it goes up and people hang up there to check out the view. Except that it's not open air lah but covered with glass, and the returning to Earth speed la duh. If the Melaka one is like the Genting wan omg, all the ah ma & ah kong will die la of heart attack etc. Even my parents will bong la what more elderly tourists.

These 2 shots are really nice, Dav took 'em.

My dad looks as if he just conquered Melaka or something lol, sitting there looking at the whole Melakan scene hahaha. Alfonso D'Albuquerqe (spelling ?) much ? lol.

Okay so that was the oh-so-famous fort yes. Next up we went to the museum.
I totally never get tired of the museum yknw, even though I'm been there like manymany times d haha.

There're soo many more posed pics like this that you don't wana see hahaha.

Hahahaha ! Do you get this picture ?? It's actually just a painting on the wall, but my dad as you can see is trying to like yknw, act as if he's really sitting down when he's actually just sitting on air. A bit fail lah cos his left hand doesn't look like it's actually resting on the table. So funny to see him half squatting in a museum tehe.

We soon got to Jonker's Street and had lunch or brunch or tea, can't remember lol : D
At Geographer.

We walked on a bit after that since the day was pretty cool, no scorching sun etc.
And we found quite a nice place and decided to take a breather. It's actually quite cosy with a nice view.

As usual as cheeky 20-smtg year olds go, they soon got creative.
More like trying to be in a circus of smtg lol.
Would've actually joined them haha ! had I not been wearing a skirt. I so would have been able to
so limber across haha.
They so died after like what, 10 seconds. Less even haha. Their centre of gravity too high la haha.

So ngam, we went when the Saint Pedro's festival was going on and decided to check it out.

It was by the sea so the breeze was superb. Didn't stay for dinner though.

We then heard that there was going to be a boat show ! Wanted to stay for it so we asked around and mana tau it was supposed to be going on right then. Puzzled, as we just came from the sea and didn't see any boats, we asked about the location of the show. They then showed us this :

That's the boat show for you ladies & gentlemen.
So super lol right. It should be called showcasing of boats or boat exhibition or smtg else but boat show lah. We all interpreted it as like a show show you know. Lol.

It was bout 7 smtg then and getting dark so bertolak back for Subang lor.
The ride back was not as kacau as the ride there haha.
Cos feeling drained & tired but just a last shot before we snoozed.
Constipated face, I know. Lol.

All in all it was a pretty fun trip. New experiences for Steffen & also showing off our Melaka to someone who had never seen it before was pretty cool.
The pics were mostly taken of Steffen cos my bro was hogging the camera so all of our pics, meaning my bro's & mine I think, are in Steffen's camera which is obviously with him in Norway now, meaning that I don't have any lol.

So yes, the Melaka trip has been blogged about and tomorrow, tomorrow shall be bout my bro's departure back to Aussie.

Today, TODAY was an annoying day.

Went for surgery to extract my wisdom tooth at 11am. It took approximately 30 min.
I'm totally fine with the procedure, not really disturbed by the fact that they cut through your gum like sawing beef (as FionaGan so delicately put it haha !) or that they drill the tooth to crack it in pieces before they take it out separately and you can feel pieces of tooth flying around your mouth & sticking to your lelangit (as FionaGan also told me) or that the sound of the drill is just traumatic.

The only 2 things I'm actually scared of is :
1) The injections cos I hate shots cos they hurt duh. Especially mouth ones.
2) That the freaking anaesthetic will either not be enough, or wear off in the middle of the surgery.

Number 2 totally happened. Sheesh.
Number 1 was not that bad. Tahan only and it was soon over. 3 shots which was supposed to last 45 mins. Fine right since it only takes 30 min to slice up my gum, open it like how people open up the chest to do open heart surgery.

But noo, my tooth has to be so unconventional that it's practically horizontal under the gum. No life lah my tooth I tell you lol. So it's not that the anaesthetic wore off I guess, more like not enough cos they had to dig deeper and deeper to take the whole tooth out without cracking it into pieces first. So the anaesthetic didn't cover the nerves behind behind there so I could feel pain.

It wasn't very painful la actually, just a bit of aching pain that got worse a bit. So I didn't want it to get any worse so I raised my left hand and asked for more anaesthetic. Okay I didn't ask for it lah but I said it was pain and she gave me 3 more shots which I didn't feel a thing cos my whole gum was numb anyway.

Because of the horrible position of the tooth, my gum was sliced up not only above the postition of the wisdom tooth but also the whole length of the tooth in front of it and a bit of the insides of my cheek was cut up. Why lah mine has to so difficult lol.
So I have plentiful of nice black stitches now.
The numbness has gone so hopefully swelling would be minimal tmw. PLS man. Haha

I couldn't get any nice pics cos didn't wana open my mouth too big, pain lah.
So these are the ones I got which do not look so bad here but in real life it's worse haha.
Pics may be disgusting to some haha.

You can't really see the stitching that's right behind the last tooth though.

And you can see the stitches where the gum was sliced up right till the front tooth below.
The stupid tooth that caused me so much trouble sheesh haha.

That's just my lower left side. Still have 2 more to go. Yay me. Bahh.
So yes till tmw then ( :
It's not like I have anything better to do anyway since my gum would prolly swell & I can't go out and eat lovely food. So yes, shall be home typing away.
I'll have ice-cream & yoghurt & cereal to accompany me so it's totally fine ( :

Enjoy the rest of your night, you people with non-swollen, non-sensitive, non-sliced up and non-stitched up gums ! Haha ( :

Make it.. Merdeka ?

Does anyone else feel that Merdeka this year is so totally un-Merdeka-y ?

Totally no Merdeka spirit this year from most people.

51 years of independence and barely a hint of enthusiasm.

Must be because of all the political screw ups.

Yup, that is so it.

People are just so fed up with the political system in the country & it's such a marvel and irony that even after 51 years, we still can't function well and it may be even more backward than how it used to be last time. Politically, that is.

The funniest part is, us SubangJaya people, are actually looking forward to the event after Merdeka.

Merdeka is just brushed pass, so that we can get to puasa month lol.

I mean, friends are asking one another when puasa month is just so that they can go to the puasa stalls, also known as Bazaar Ramadhan. Lol.

People actually can't wait for Monday to come, cos that signifies the start of the bazaar, not Sunday, which signifies 51 years of independence from our colonial masters. Ironic.

So, Merdeka is upstaged by Bazaar Ramadhan, the highly anticipated event.

Because, why ?

Food lah what else lol.

There is absolutely everything in the Bazaar Ramadhan in SS18.

And by this I mean, Melay food, which I absolutely adore.

All the kuihs & ayam perciks & drinks (mainly sugarcane & coconut water) & famous nasi lemak kukus ! & so manymany more ! I'm looking forward to coming back from college so that I can walk out to the bazaar. My house's very near the bazaar, which takes up the whole SS18 road stretching from one end right to the other end. All filled with tents & smells of glorious food mm-mmmm-mm !

There's western food too I think, but why buy it when you have curry puffs & kuih bakar & ikan bakar & satay & cendol & anything else you can think of ey ?

So to those out of towners/not locals/not from around the area but go to Taylors/Inti/Metro/wherever, get your local friends to bring you to check it out ( : It's your chance as you may not be around next year to try the food ( :

It starts as early as 4pm, but you risk not having a good selection as many stalls will be preparing, not yet open. 5pm's okay, better than 4, but 6pm would prolly be the bestest. It's when everything's open & there's so many people (I always always bump into friends) & you totally feel like a community. The mak ciks are so nice & you get to see youngsters calling out "Beli beli !" or "Nasi lemak, nasi lemak !"
But this is also prolly why people go earlier even though not all are open yet cos it's insane pack from 6pm onwards & if you're claustrophobic, you might wana go early. Gotto admit not everyone is polite and people do push & shove.

Obviously it ends about 7/7.30pm cos they need to break fast too. If you plan to go, try not to drive. It'll be so jam packed that there's absolutely no space cos so many ppl are already parking everywhere, even blocking off one lane of the 3 on the main road. So walk, or park opposite in SS14. Totally much better idea. There's a field right next to this bazaar where people normally go, armed with cloth & all, to have a "picnic" where they just basically eat & watch people play futsal/basketball/kids at the playground.

I'm thinking that even though puasa month starts this Monday, the puasa stalls will only be up later that week cos it's already Saturday today, and I don't see any signs of the tents being set up hmm. Unless, oh no, there's no Bazaar Ramadhan this year ! gasp :O
Impossible.
Keep your fingers crossed anyhow !

I look forward to it as I've always had since I was in high, even primary, school. I'd purposely walk back with a bunch of friends so that we can go to the puasa stalls & have fun picking out what we want to it & scouting around to see which is cheapest & waiting in line even if it rains. My mum wouldn't cook & she trusted my bro & I to bring back a selection of food for dinner, my brother never failing to bring back lamb/beef murtabak haha. There used to be a lot of school kids at the bazaar cos there are like 3 schools with a km of the bazaar, my high school incuded. But I'm not sure about now.

Oh wells, I hope you guys get a chance to go for Bazaar Ramadhan in SS18 ( :
It's the nearest one from SS15 and it'll be there for a month tehe.
If the food's not good, go for the atmosphere ( :
Go for the company.
Go to experience the joys of choosing your food & making small talk with the friendly mak ciks.
Go to experience what is truly Malaysian.

Do I detect a little patriotism here ?
Hmm, I guess one can't help being proud of what one's country has that other countries don't huh.
Even with all the political crap happening.
So yes, Happy Merdeka !
Or should I say, Selamat Hari Merdeka ?
Whichever, have a good Merdeka people ( :

Make it seem like milleniums.

Hahaha. Hah hah hah. Hah hah hah.
heh :D

Been quite a while eh ?

I decided to come on and check out my blog & I see omgwthhello !
Last post : July 16.

And I was like, wei, that's like.. milleniums ago wei ! LOL

I've had so many blog entries that I wanted to post yknow, I mean like really, I prepared all the respective pictures lah & like a list of what I wanted to post about (including my brother's departure back to Aus, which was like on the 27th of JULY) hahahaha.

But could never find the time to.
Maybe it was because I'd place more importance on other stuff tehe.
Reading, movies etc yknow.

And yet, I'm not gona post up any picture-filled, emotion-induced, intense blog entries now haha.
Cos I have no time.
When I do specific entries I like time to be on my side.
So I can leisurely think what happened & what to type & so on.
But today will not be the day.
Because time is not on my side.
HELLO. LAW TRIALS TMW hinthint.

So today will be just any ordinary post of only words ( :
Economics exam was today.
MCQ sucked like insaneinsane.
But I found that the essay section was fine, cos I like macro, so I could answer the exchange rate question. Data response, I don't know if I did it well. Hard to say.

Right now, it's 6pm here in the small cozy urban area of SubangJaya haha.
And may I say, I am currently really loving the weather.
Not many people know this, but I love the rain ( :
It's raining & it's cold & it's so soothing & I just love it when it rains. I just love to hear the rain.
With the exception, of course, that I am not going anywhere or am in a place where I have to go out & walk in the rain when dressed up nicely.
But otherwise, I like the rain when it's so cold & it just puts me in such a comfortable state.
So snuggy & makes me happyhappy.
Which is funny, because I don't think of myself as a melancholy person, or one who is dreary ( though who says that ppl who like rain are dreary ? heh, it's an assumption) or even one who doesn't like the sun cos it makes us sweat, makes us thirsty, makes us tan etc.

In fact, I also really do love the sun ( :
You get to go out and jog & play games.
It's more convenient to go places.
It feeds the grass which feeds the cows who feed me. Hahaha lol.

But I'm always always in a better mood when it's drizzling & I can hear the pitter patter of the raindrops & it makes me wish that I'm in England cos then I'll be sitting by the window sill looking out the window at the meadows (if I'm in the country) and see little animals scuttling about trying to get shade under thornbushes or at the streets (if I'm in a city) and see people scurrying about with their umbrellas, running errands, and trying to seek shelter under the awnings of bistros.
It's such a change of atmosphere.

And I lovelovelove the aftermath of a rainy day. It's so pleasant just to stand in the garden where the floor tiles are still wet with raindrops & you can literally see the fallen raindrops clinging on to the leaves before it loses it's grip and hits the cold hard cement floor and splatters into a million diamonds & it's still a little chilly & the air just smells better. Or at least I think it smells better. If it's acid rain I tell you, crush everything I've said earlier. But then again, there is only ever acid rain here in Malaysia haha.
Okay, fine, maybe not only ever, but most of the time.
Oh well, I still wana look at it as if it's not acid rain but good ol' harmless rain ( :

Some people think it's so depressing to be in cold weather, like when it's raining, and it's always nice to wake up & see the sun shining & yadayada, especially when it's winter.
But I like both I think.
Not sure bout winter, but I reckon I'll be okay with it ( :
Cos it's nice.

I can't believe I just typed all of the above paragraphs (if you can call them paragraphs) about the weather. It reminds me of like an awkward situation between a guy & a girl (most of the time when a guy likes a girl) and when it's so silent (tension silence, not comfortable silences you have with friends/loved ones),
the guy goes :
Soo.... nice weather today eh ?

She goes :
Er.. yeah.. uh-huh.

He goes :
Erm, yup, okay I gtg.

As he walks away a monologue's raging in his head :
Wth, you talked about the weather ? The weather ? Ohmygoodness lah(applies onnly if he's Msian of whoever that uses 'lah') how lame can you get wei. One chance & you blew it. One chance & you talk about the weather ?! Can die of shame lor.

Hahahahaha.
But too bad, my situation's different.
So I'm entitled to talk about the weather.
Cos it's something I like, not some teenage odd situation. Lol

And just as I was typing about how I think I won't mind winter & how I like the melancholy weather, my mum just told me my auntie's going to Ireland for Christmas !
And I'm like whattttt. It's gona be winter then ! Omgoodness lah how cool is that.
Literally how COOL is that haha. White Christmas !
And Ireland ! With the Irish & their wonderful accent.
And the Irish countryside ! Ohmygoodness lah.
And everything is Irish !
Irish cars Irish chocolates Irish food which you'll eat & the waste product will be Irish poo ( I wonder if it'll be green, cos somehow the Irish're always connected to the colour green : think shamrocks & leprechauns haha) Irish GUYS & Irish GIRLS (for the guys out there haha) Irish animals Irish flooring tiles Irish grass Irish everything else !
I'm so westernized lol.
And after typing it out so many times, I feel that the word 'Irish' looks so weird to me now. Haha do you get that sometimes ? When a word just starts to look funny for no particular reason lol.

Oh well, that's just bout all the thoughts I have to give today ( :
I shall be back with a vengeance (think : loads of pictures [related to the blog entry, of course] & loads of events that I didn't post about [which means alot of stories to come ( :] & more of me rambling on tehe) during the holidays which is after my AS trials.

For now, I have to hit the showers (not the books yet lah) & makan & then hit the books.
Oh speaking of books, nothing related to studying haha, MPH had this 30% & 50% off certain books (but the range was big) and I got new books & I'm very happy ( :
Just done reading The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time by Mark Haddon, and in my opinion, it is an exceptional book. No wonder it's a Whitbread Award Winner & international bestseller. I've always seen in on the shelves but never really bought it cos somehow forgot or smtg, and I got it this time & I absolutely positively love it.
That's just my opinion though, cos I found out that my friend didn't like it that much, she never really got the story.
One man's meat is another's poison, I guess ( :

It's about an autistic child, and the whole book is written by the autistic child in the story. Not narrator. It Christopher Boone, writing out how he sees life as he solves the murder of Wellington, his neighbours dog. It's actually quite spectacular cos you get to see how an autistic child's mind work. He labels the chapters with prime numbers, so the first chapter starts at '2' I think this is so ingenious. The child is a total star in Math & Physics even though he may be lacking other areas because of his autism but most autistic children are like that. They have something they're really good at, either drawing or they have a way with animals of they're math geniuses like Christopher.
So it's a good read, I would say.

The other 3 books are Please, Daddy, No. Which is about the author himself who was abused by his dad, and his dad left after abusing his sisters. He comes back one day, and the author finds himself unable to hold back his anger.

Then we have The Book Thief which I think will be a good read too.
And Can You Keep A Secret. Just chic lit & it's pretty old but I haven't read it so I got it. In the middle of it now & it's proving to be... just like any other chic lit lol.

It's still raining. And I feel so happy at this moment haha I just like it alot ( :

Special thanks to BenJon who is constantly reminding me to update my blog ! HAHA.
I feel so bad, cos he's all the way in NZ & he reads my blog & I haven't been blogging.
Do not fear, I shall blog more frequently during the hols ( :
And I see FionaGan has also started reminding me to update : D goodie. I have 2 update-your-blog-personnels hahahha.

Okays I got sidetracked because of the books, & so am off to continue the rest of my mundane life. I always wonder why I can't have special instant life changing instances in my life like : I receive this letter from some long lost grandfather or uncle or whoever that's like a millionaire & I've inherited some big money because he recently passed away, or like I have a long lost twin sister somewhere in the Amish country separated at birth lah somehow or any other crazy instances you can think of. Because life right now is pretty as per usual. Mundane. Wake up go college study come back study eat sleep. Exam period : Just switch the first 'study' with 'examing'.

Okay, I digressed again heh.
Right, really off this time.
All the bestest for your upcoming trials fellow A Levels people !
Take care, enjoy your day ahead as I'm sure to enjoy mine ( it's still raining !)

Random happening in college that was oh-so-laugh-out-loud-able :

FionaGan to RChang : Eh, don't you think she (teacher) looks like some sort of mouse species ah ?
RChang laughs out real loud.
RChang tells MandyLau what FionaGan told her.

MandyLau to RChang : Harr ?? (blur face) All (she mentions a certain race, pls forgive the bit of racism here, not intended cos Mandy is perpetually blur) teachers look like mouse wan what, no meh ?

RChang snorts with laughter while at the same time trying to convey the message to FionaGan.
FionaGan's face screws up with laughter upon hearing MandyLau's remark.
It was seriously funny at that time kay !

And that was how just about the only laughable thing that happened in college today.
Got other stuff lar, just that this was the most recent.

Another is how we used the term butt crack to explain the exposure of butt cracks, and MandyLau replies with a, "Har ?? Butt can crack wan ah ?"
She seriously does not do this on purpose LOL.

Have a fun night ahead ppl.

Oh, but wait. Beethoven's era got none of those. Haiya. Nevermind, still got "SELF-CONTROL". So, no excuse !

Make it a double spicy chicken Mcdeluxe with onion rings.

Okay, so Mackers came up with something new & improved.
Well, not exactly new, just improved actually.
First, there was the MegaMac.
Now, there's the double spicy chicken Mcdeluxe.

My verdict ?
Haiya, same only lah ! Haha ( ;
Just double patties.
Onion rings' are new though. Didn't taste too bad. But I didn't find any real onion strands.
Sort of like.. mashed up onion filling ? Maybe it was just mine that turned out funky.
