Only non-Muslims are allowed to attend the upcoming Black Eyed Peas concert.

Lol I feel like laughing, not at the fact that Muslims can't go but at the fact that, hello, what the heck is this?!, but it's not really that funny, just... Preposterous.

But actually it's quite funny lah, how we're supposed to be united and be One Malaysia, everyone being called "Malaysian" instead of segregating the races, but all these are still happening.

I know, I should be thankful that the non-Muslims get to go instead of banning every race altogether. And I am! Haha. Was just thinking deeper into it, that's all.

Because I was bored, here's..

My 31 random food facts. :)
(Even the number is so random, I know right. Lol.)

If you are bored, like me, read through and see if any of these are the same with you ;)

I always finish my fries before my main meal (burgers etcetc) I prefer blunt-edged, naturally soggy fries (not the fake one where it gets soggy after leaving it in a bag for 1 hour) to crispy, pointy-edged ones.

I like to eat my papayas in cubes, not long long or sliced diagonally.

I like eating ice-cream from tubs.

I don't usually snack in the cinema or in front of the TV. I feel that I can't concentrate on the taste so it's wasted. Lol.

I have a lifelong mission to try everybody's nasi lemak and also burgers, western & Ramly.

I like McD's coke. Particularly theirs.

I will pick the flavour chocolate over strawberry anytime. Over vanilla too for that matter.

I don't like carrots & corn in the peas-carrots-corn combo. But peas are okay.

I prefer pisang berangan to pisang emas/tanduk.

I do not like jackfruit/nangka but cempedak's cool.

I'd pick rice dishes over noodle ones anytime.

My favourite type of noodle is kuey tiow. And the fat, translucent one (in asam laksa). I don't dig mee hoon or yellow mee.

Cheese, chocolate and peanut butter are my Top 3. Priority given to them in anything. Except maybe potato chips flavour cos I pick hot & spicy or sour cream & onion over cheese lol.

I won't particularly choose to eat watermelons. But I won't die eating them.

I detest fish. Especially steamed fish ohmygoodnesslah. Fried/asam fish/salmon are negotiable. Actually, I quite like those hehe.

Favourite Baskin Robbins flavour - Pralines & Cream. Cookies & Cream comes in 2nd and surprisingly (perhaps because it's in my everything else) the Peanut Butter & Choc one comes in 3rd hehe.

I like chicken thigh. Very much. Practically flee from breast meat. I can hear Fiona going, Whyyyyy?? at this haha! :)

I drink less than a cup of water daily. Sometimes none. I basically drink very little fluids in general.

I eat the salted egg yolk last when eating mooncake. Also, only like the plain lotus mooncake, no fancy fancy flavours for me hehe.

I like my chocolate plain. No nuts, raisins, fruits, vege or whatever else embedded inside pls.

I like raisins alone but not in anything else. Eg. cakes, buns, choc.

I also like nuts alone but not in anything else. I don't really like almonds & walnuts. Macademias are my favourite.

Jams are not my thing. Apricot jam is reallyy not my thing. They should just stick to facials. Apricot facials.

I'd pick beef over chicken & pork anytime.

Funnily enough, for a beef lover, I don't really do steaks :P

I never eat the icing on cakes (those white & pink cream squiggles) They kinda make me feel sick after I swallow 'em.

Most of the time I only take whipped cream when it's on a Starbucks drink.

I don't really like lapp cheong (chinese sausage thing)

Japanese food is at the bottom of my list.

I eat the purple Skittles first, followed by the red ones, green, then orange. I give away the yellows.

And finally, I eat waffles, pizza style. None of that "use fork & knife to cut one small cube, eat, then cut another small cube, then another (repeat 63729 times)" for me.

And yes, there are 31 facts, no need go count count all. Haha.

I bet some of you have total opposites of my like/dislikes eh :) But see, that's why it's so cool. I mean, one man's meat is another man's poison and I guess that's just how we were made. I duno, I find that incredible, how each and everyone of us is fearfully & wonderfully made :) Even if it's about small things such as food hehe

Just his unique way of seeing things hehe :)
I have not finished reading Life of Pi.

After 4 months, I still have not finished reading Life of Pi.

Blargh.

Btw btw btw, I'm watching Grey's all over again, starting Season 1. Heehee :)
It's one of my favourite TV series so I'm kinda looking forward to watching the whole lot again (Quite sad right lol) But I only have a week left! So so so. So. So yeah. Lol.

Anyways, I can't wait for Elevate!! It is so on. Tomorrow night people, tomorrow night :)

Now, Imma go try to remember how to drive a manual/stick shift/whateveryoucallit (actually I still remember how to, just that the lifting of the clutch and those multiple leg movements that resemble spasms may not be that smooth hehe) just in case I have to take over the wheel :)

I feel very.. Excited.

At the prospect of once again being able to read non-stop, without thoughts rudely squirming its way into my conscience, all the while hollering : "Exam! Exam! Study! Study!". Babi betul. Lol.

And so, my journey begins anew, with them books.

Fellow readers, don't you just hate the feeling of having to break out of your reading momentum when in the middle of reading the best book ever (you thought so at that time)?

Oh oh, I'm even more excited at the fact that I just got 4 books, for a really, I mean really, good price! Yay! (Big big grin) Thanks my unmentionable dear friend! (HAHA) :))

Here's a mighty long list of books that are waiting to be opened, pages waiting to be flipped, leather (yeah, right) spines waiting to be stretched :

1. The Shadow of The Wind (Carlos Ruiz Zafon)
2. The Cathedral of The Sea (Ildefonso Falcones)
3. I Know This Much Is True (Wally Lamb)
4. The Hour I First Believed (Wally Lamb)
5. Schindler's List (Thomas Keneally)
6. The Gravedigger's Daughter (Joyce Carol Oates) (Haha! Oates! Geddit? Edible stuff..)
7. The Book of Lost Things (John Connolly)
8. Company of Liars (Karen Maitland)
9. Perfume (Patrick Suskind)
10. Son of A Witch ( Gregory Maguire) (Sequel to Wicked)
11. The Map of the Invisible World (Tash Aw)
12. The Lord of the Rings (Must I even type the author's name?) (Fine, J.R.R. Tolkien) (And yes, I have not read it. Oh, the shame. LOL)

Classics (a whole lot of them, but I shall read these few first) :

1. Anna Karenina (Leo Tolstoy) (I wonder if it qualifies as a classic?)
2. Les Miserable (Victor Hugo)
3. The Age of Innocence (Edith Wharton)
4. Jude The Obscure (Thomas Hardy)
5. The Floss on The Mill (George Eliot)
6. Middlemarch (George Eliot)

Books I died halfway reading (either due to exams (boo) or because my brain was still too immature to appreciate such fine works of literature then. Mostly the former though. Hehe) (And I duno why the colours for this section quite sad lol) :

1. Inkdeath (Cornelia Funke) (IMPOSSIBLE that this was caused by the latter haha)
2. Tess of d'Ubervilles (Thomas Hardy) (AS finals, boo)
3. Life of Pi (Yann Martel) (Confirm A2 finals, BOO)
4. Temple of The Wind (Terry Goodkind) (AS, A2, Semester exams, whatever)

5. THE BLIND ASSASSIN OMG (Margaret Atwood)
(Obviously the OMG is not part of the title la. Lol. Just expressing my discontentment of not being able to finish it these past few YEARS. Wana know when I started.. Come I tell you. FORM THREE. 15. LIMA BELAS TAHUN. TAHUN PMR) (So, this one can say, a bit of the latter.. The immature part haha and also I never got back to it after PMR.. Or SPM.. Or.. Heh.. ALEVELS? (NO, I WILL get back to it soon!) :)

I just finished The Five People You Meet In Heaven! By Mitch Albom. Buy it, it comes highly recommended :)
It's pretty short, but I tell you, every flip of the page ah.. The feeling is like your heart berdebar-debar.. Super tension. Then suddenly they bomb (they being Mitch Albom, but they sounds cooler LOL) something unexpected at every end of a chapter which leaves you going like, What?!
And then you flip the page to the next chapter imagining all sorts of things and the feeling is like.. Like.. You ALevels ppl waiting for the frigging results page to load. HAHA. Okay la not so kau la.. Heh :P

They're both the same la lol. Different colour only. Mine's the first hehe :)

And I WANA SEE THE SHOW!!

So so so. So. Oh yeah. Watch The Departures. Super happening movie. To me lah. It's Japanese, and it won lotsa awards.. Best film la, best foreign movie la etcetc. Good stuff.

AND watch THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS!! Must must must.
It's based on a book.
And the story is so... Heartbreaking. Especially the ending. You will NOT expect the ending. But my saying that already helps you expect the ending right -.- as in cos I told you you will NOT expect it.. So you know to expect the UNexpected.. Which makes it.. Expected? HAHA you get the picture :P
It's about the holocaust days btw, but seen from the eyes of 8 year old Bruno, a German boy whose innocence is his best asset but also his downfall.
It is an amazing story, and like the review said, a film that should be seen.

The book and the movie poster!

Watch watch!! :) You may cry though, if you're the type to get really absorbed in movies, like me haha.

I am ready, for the next phase.

Are you?

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

I don't like it when people lie.

Do you?

Sunday, August 9, 2009

I agree with Fiona.

Friday, August 7, 2009

Make it one of those nights again.

Yeah, as the clock struck 3am, it was one of those nights again, or days more like, where I would ask myself, what do I really want in life?

I do this once in a while, but I guess this time it's because it's looming ever nearer now.

What do I want to achieve? What is my purpose in life?
I have a purpose driven life, but have I really grasped the implications of that?

Sometimes, it's not so wise to sleep late, things like these get you thinking, and you end up sleeping even later.

"Today, after being supportive for nearly a year, my brother finally came out of the closet and introduced the family to his new boyfriend. His new boyfriend happens to be my ex-boyfriend. Guess I know why that didn't work out now."

Poor girl.
